Here is a feel good article that was shared on my OT pediatric FB page.  It’s just a matter of time, I am convinced, before sensory strategies  become mainstream information.

Everyone has sensory needs (admittedly some more than others), however, I can even see it in my own little boy who loves his running shoes “tight, tight, tight!” as he feels he can run faster and jump harder.  Deep pressure provides not only calming input but propioceptive input telling us where our body is in space and in a nutshell it simply can  “ground” us.

A “hug” chair designed by Engineering students – great idea! I hope this continues to evolve for them:
