Our Toronto Children’s Therapy Team is hiring!
Toronto Children’s Therapy Centre (TCTC) is an established pediatric private practice (24 years) that consists of a supportive group of 40+ occupational therapists and speech language pathologists. We offer competitive and transparent compensation and we provide a robust practice infrastructure that supports team connection and clinical support. Our scheduling, charting and billing system is intuitive, with a focus on reducing a therapist’s time with admin and documentation, while meeting the standards set by the regulatory colleges.
1. Speech-Language Pathologist – Scarborough & North York (FT or PT) and Toronto & East York (PT)
Toronto Children’s Therapy Centre (TCTC) is looking for a speech-language pathologist to join our dynamic and supportive interprofessional team. The position is for an independent contractor who can make their own part-time or full-time hours.
Our clinic therapists work at one of our two locations in either East York or Scarborough. Home/Community-based therapists work in homes, some schools and child care settings, usually in the area of the city they live or already work in. Many of our therapists have chosen to practice in both environments – working in the clinic some days and in the community others. We still get requests for virtual appointments too.
Job Description
- Deliver creative, fun, child and family-centred assessment and treatment services
- Provide Neurodiversity-Affirming services and Trauma-Informed practices
- Partner with clients, families and other professionals to develop meaningful goals and intervention plans
- Maintain up to date electronic documentation and record keeping including consent, assessment, treatment notes and progress notes
- Manage a dynamic caseload including managing logistics of client visits (prep and documentation), scheduling, and client communication.
- Manage client billing and invoicing using our electronic medical record software.
- Maintain all CASLPO standards of practice
- Engage and share with other team member via our internal communication platform, shared resources, formal and informal continuing education opportunities
Key Skills and Attributes
- Experience with: neurodivergent children and families, language development, artic and motor speech, social communication, literacy, AAC, voice and fluency
- Strong communication skills using a variety of methods and contexts (spoken, written, digital, virtual)
- Self-directed learner with a commitment to ongoing professional development
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Able to work independently, but also reach out for direct support from the clinical lead, mentor and other SLP & OT team members

Role Description
Toronto Children’s Therapy Centre is looking to hire occupational therapists with pediatric experience to join our dynamic and supportive team. This role allows you to make your own hours and even build a full-time caseload over time (20-24 children per week) if desired. Our home visiting therapists can provide community-based services in the home, some schools and child care settings. Our clinic therapists work at one of our two location in either East York or Scarborough. Many of our therapists have chosen to work in both environments working in the clinic some days and in the community others.
We work with children from 0 – 18 years of age and our focus is most often in providing direct therapy assessment and intervention with the child and consultation with the parent.
Orientation, training, and 1:1 mentorship is provided for the first 3 to 6 months, and as needed thereafter with ongoing direct access to your clinical lead and supportive OT team members.
Position Summary
- Casual to part-time with an opportunity to gradually build a full-time caseload if desired
- Home/Community Work hours: As a self-employed therapist, you can choose your days of the week and hours to work although we do require consistent availability.

- Required commitment is for a minimum of two after school weekdays OR one after school and 1 half-day shift on the weekend to support referrals.
- Expected minimum caseload is 4 clients per week.
- We recommend choosing an area in the city that you either live or already work in.

- Clinic Work hours – Shifts are determined based on having an available therapy room. Please contact the respective clinic lead for more information on available rooms/days if it is not listed above.

Self-directed learner with a commitment to ongoing professional development
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to independently manage dynamic caseload with access to clinical lead support
